Description
The César Manrique Maritime Park is a 22,000 m2 complex located on the south coast of the Tenerife capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with unbeatable views of the Tenerife Auditorium, designed by Santiago Calatrava, the Palmetum botanical garden and the sea. Easily accessible by car and public transport, this leisure center has a large parking area. In it, the black of the volcanic stone contrasts with the blue of the crystal clear waters and the green of the palm trees and flowers that adorn the space. The artificial waterfalls provide sound and relaxation to this place where it will not be difficult to rest.
Posthumous work of the famous Lanzarote artist César Manrique, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Maritime Park was inaugurated in 1995, becoming a symbol of the capital as part of the city's landscape. Its integration into the town center and its proximity and permanent contact with the sea, make it a space of unique beauty, while accessible and close.
For its design, natural elements such as volcanic rocks, palm trees and ornamental plants were used along with waterfalls of salt water. All this seasoned with the unmistakable Manrique wind toys.
In addition to its 3 saltwater pools, it has restaurant services, shops, changing rooms, playrooms, showers and a gym, as well as hammock and umbrella rental services, making it an ideal place for both tourist and family activities, leisure and rest. .
The 2 main pools, salt water and totally crystalline, have artificial islands inside and the depth varies according to the area, enabling access to them through beach-type ramps or stairs. The walks that connect them through the solarium are perfectly equipped for baby carriages and wheelchairs, as are the changing rooms and other services. It also has a children's pool so that children can enjoy the water and children's activities in the company of their parents.
The program of events includes activities such as inflatables and water castles, visits of children's characters, storytelling, face painting and gymnastics activities in the pool for both children and adults.
