With a fascinating history spanning over 300 years, our city-centre location makes us the perfect base from which to dine and stay to explore the fine city of Norwich.

Formerly functioning as the Trowel and Hammer Inn, we now provide guests and visitors with exceptional Italian-inspired food and comfortable rooms. The Grill House retains its historical charm with timber beams and exposed brick, whilst realising its own special identity as a hub for Norwich city-explorers!

Norwich is packed with culture and attractions to suit all ages and interests. Whether it’s seeing a play at the Maddermarket Theatre, a comedy night at the Norwich Playhouse, or exploring one of the several museums and historical buildings, there is always something going on in the city and it’s all a stone’s throw away from the Grill House.

OUR FOOD

Our pizzas are made with our authentic home-made dough, topped with fresh ingredients and are stone-baked for an authentic Italian taste.

Alongside our pizza menu, we also have a range of grilled meat options, cooked to your liking fresh on our charcoal-fired grill. We also offer seasonal specials, sourced locally wherever possible.

OUR ROOMS

Our 7 bright, contemporary bedrooms are comfortable and well-equipped with free WiFi, tea & coffee making facilities, and flat screen television.

Exploring the city is easy from our location. Chapelfield Shopping Centre is a short walk away, as are the delights of Norwich Market; one of the largest open-air markets in the UK.

We have a large car park on site that is free to use for customers. Please let us know if you plan to bring a vehicle ahead of your stay so we can ensure there is a space.

Note: non-customers can use the car park for a fee of £5 per day.
