A blue sky and a pleasant climate, a beautiful natural landscape and warm thermal waters are just some of the attributes of Ixtapan de la Sal. It is located in the State of Mexico, almost on the border with Morelos and Guerrero. It is 90 minutes from the Federal District and 45 from Toluca.

Its name comes from the Nahuatl word that means "place on salt" and it was founded by Matlazinca groups from Guerrero. Important archaeological finds have been found such as mammoth and mastodon skeletons, cave paintings and clay pots. In the mid-16th century, the Spanish settled, leaving behind the colonial architecture that can be admired in the streets of the center.

The green fields with bougainvillea and jacaranda trees, in addition to its historical and cultural richness, have made it one of the most important tourist centers in the State of Mexico. In Ixtapan de la Sal, the modernity of its boulevards contrasts with the patterns of its alleys, with that typical provincial charm that invites you to walk its streets and find its handicrafts, Mexican snacks, its people and other surprises.

It has excellent communication routes, hotels, guest houses and all the services that tourists may need.

This place has maintained its customs and traditions, preserving its different festivals and commemorations, which are held year after year; one of its most important festivities are the festivals of the Lord of Forgiveness and the Assumption of Mary, patron saints of the place. Likewise, each neighborhood celebrates its festivities with jaripeos, fireworks, festivals, pilgrimages, etc. They highlight the celebration of the February Carnival and in September on the 15th and 16th there is a recreation of the War of Independence.
