The “Xosé Neira Vilas” library is a public library, both for its ownership, which is municipal, and for the people to whom it is addressed: to all citizens without any distinction of age, race, sex, religion, condition or opinion.
Apart from providing the traditional services of a library, it emphasizes the development of services and resources adapted to the specific cultural and informational needs of its environment by establishing links of cooperation with citizen organizations in its area of influence.
Its mission is to be a territorial center of communication, information and reading promotion; a reference space for the area, in which the neighborhood comes to generate demands, meet their needs or simply a meeting place, integrating the different social and vital sensibilities that coexist and coexist around them.
